Photos of the Thurlaston Carnival on June 2008.
The weather was once again kind to the 37th Thurlaston Carnival and Craft Fair on June 14. Hundreds of people saw a day of free entertainment led by the 'Piston Rings' Youth Motor Cycle Club of Nuneaton and included the Barwell Church Lads' and Girls' Brigade Band, Under 6s Football Tournament, Country Dancing and a Fun Dog Show. There were many stalls, traditional games and rides to tempt people to part with their money, which will be used to help village groups and other charities.

Now, if I told you that two fellas had called on me and told me they had a bit of tarmac left over from a job; would I like my drive tarmacing? You wouldn't be surprised if the result was like in the photo below.
Regrettably, this is a photo of the bridge over the motorway on Thurlaston Lane and the work was, presumably, supervised by the Local Authority. Given year on year tax increases, way above the rate of inflation, you'd think that the Authorities would ensure that we get good value for money - lads, it's a lovely smooth surface but it's got a big dip in the middle!

Many thanks to Pete Davies for the photo.
