Watery Gate 1981
The ford at Watery Gate during a period of flood.
The first 5 pictures are of the Annual 'Bike Race' held on boxing day - a tradition started by the Dog and Gun and subsequently held at either pub. The next picture is of a group from the chapel heading off to Bets Y Coed for a camp and the rest appear to be chapel related events.
The first picture shows a night scene. The following two are of a street party.
The pictures show a general view, followed by two of the (then) farm yard to the rear of the houses on the left of the road.
The first two pictures are of the chapel. These are followed by three pictures of the farm-yard and cottage on the site of what is now Tyers Close. The three final pictures are of the woodyard and house on the site of what is now Hollies Close.
The first three pictures show the Dog and Gun from various angles. The last picture shows the house a couple of hundred yards up Earl Shilton Road.
Pictures of Desford Road including the school, vicarage and village shop (now a house).
