Malcolm Tarratt has conected a camera to a bird-box in his garden. As yet he can only watch the goings-on with hio own TV but he hopes to relay them through to his computer shortly.
In the meantime you can see stills of the birds at:

Now, if I told you that two fellas had called on me and told me they had a bit of tarmac left over from a job; would I like my drive tarmacing? You wouldn't be surprised if the result was like in the photo below.
Regrettably, this is a photo of the bridge over the motorway on Thurlaston Lane and the work was, presumably, supervised by the Local Authority. Given year on year tax increases, way above the rate of inflation, you'd think that the Authorities would ensure that we get good value for money - lads, it's a lovely smooth surface but it's got a big dip in the middle!

Many thanks to Pete Davies for the photo.

Irene Slack has kindly given me this photo of pupils at Thurlaston School in 1971.
I love posting this type of photo – if only to embarrass the people on it that still live in the village!

They are: Back row left to right, Sharon Slack, Wendy Povoas, Patrick King, Jenette Bodycote, Susan Yeo, Peter Rivers. Front row, Jane Sarsby, Julie Claricoates, Jane Price, Joanne Smith, Matthew Rivers, Stephen Coates.

This website is not here for me to express my, often bizarre, personal opinions about religion, politics, or anything else for that matter – but on this occasion I just can't contain myself.
Whilst I can smile at the irony of the Australian Goverment sending their criminals to Britain, I am ashamed that Gurkha ex-serviceman are denied entry.
The vchero website says:
Those rejected have included Tul Bahadur Pun VC (a Gurkha who won the Victoria Cross in World War II) and Lance Corporal Gyanendra Rai (a Gurkha seriously wounded by Argentine artillery at Bluff Cove, in the Falkland Islands in 1982). British Visa Officers say that these brave Gurkhas do not have "strong ties" to the United Kingdom, despite years of service in the British Army.
Tul Bahadur Pun VC has subsequently been allowed entry.
What closer tie is there to a country than to be seriously injured fighting for it?
The Gurkhas, many based only a few miles away at Wolvey, continue their proud service to the Crown fighting in Afganistan and who was fighting alongside them recently? Why Price Harry of course! Good enough to share the same billet as the third-in-line to the throne but not to live in the same Country?
Our Government should be ashamed of itself.
