Peckleton Concert

On Sunday 1st May the Leicestershire classical guitarist and composer Yvonne Bloor will be performing in the wonderful acoustic setting of Peckleton Church. The programme will comprise works by John Dowland, the Schubert-inspired 'Sonata Romantica' by Manuel Maria Ponce, and Benjamin Britten's 'Nocturnal after John Dowland', which is considered one of the most influential works for classical guitar written in the twentieth century.

Yvonne is a very accomplished classical guitar performer, having studied with Professor Michael Lewin of the Royal Academy of Music and the eminent guitarists Nicola Hall and Craig Ogden, principal lecturer in guitar at the Royal Northern College of Music. Her playing career has included concerts both in the UK and abroad, broadcasts on BBC Radio, and master class performances. She also lectures on guitar at Trinity College London and contributes monthly articles on guitar playing for Guitar International Magazine.

The concert starts at 4pm. Tea and cakes will be served from 3.30pm (the concert has no interval).

Tickets are £6 for all adults, but free for Under 18s. Tickets are available on the door or by email at . Anyone interested in future concerts at Peckleton (LE9 7RA) can sign up to a mailing list at
